WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
WHY GT DOG TRAINING?
GT Dog Training is about something bigger than commands and routines. I’m here to help you build a bond with your dog that goes far beyond “sit” and “stay.”
Each service I offer is designed to bring out the best in both you and your dog. If you’re looking for genuine connection, respect and trust, you’re in the right place.
THE FIRST STEP
Initial Evaluation
We’ll start with an initial evaluation to get a clear sense of where you’re at.
This evaluation is a vital first step to understanding any challenges you’re facing and pinpointing the behaviours you want to improve. We’ll discuss your expectations, your goals, and how you’d like to see your relationship with your dog developing. This can be done over the phone, but in most cases, seeing your dog in action makes all the difference.
If you’re ready to dive into training, I can often combine the assessment with your first session to get things moving right away.

FOLLOWING YOUR EVALUATION,
we can move on to one of the following options…
01.
FOUNDATIONAL ONE-TO-ONE TRAINING
Building the Core of a Lasting Bond

This is not a single training session or a collection of disconnected exercises.
The Behaviour Reset is a structured, professional behaviour programme designed to create lasting change by addressing why behaviours happen, not just how to interrupt them.
Rather than managing problems indefinitely, this work builds understanding, clarity, and capability for both dog and handler.
The focus is on developing skills that hold up in real life outside controlled environments and beyond short-term fixes.

This programme is for handlers who want a clear plan, professional guidance, and meaningful progress.
It is suited to those who are willing to practise between sessions, reflect on their handling, and take responsibility for long-term change.
This is not for anyone looking for a quick fix, passive training, or results without personal involvement.
The work is done with you, not to your dog. Most behaviour support focuses on management and avoidance.
The Behaviour Reset focuses on:
-
Clear communication systems
-
Understanding arousal, stress, and thresholds
-
Developing reliable engagement and reward strategies
-
Teaching decision-making rather than dependency
The aim is not perfection. The aim is capability under pressure.-
As skills improve, stress reduces and confidence grows.
For some teams, this means calmer walks and fewer reactions.
For others, it opens the door to environments and situations they previously avoided.
Progress creates freedom and often reveals possibilities that weren’t visible at the start.
02.
DAY TRAINING INTENSIVE
Accelerated Progress in a Controlled Environment

The Day Training Intensive is an immersive training option designed for accelerated progress.
Rather than spreading learning thinly, this approach allows focused work in real environments, building momentum and clarity through consistent, structured training.
It is ideal for teams who want to move beyond plateaus and create noticeable change efficiently.

This option is suited to handlers who want faster progress and are comfortable with a more immersive approach.
It is not designed for owners who want minimal involvement or who are unwilling to continue the work independently after training.
Day training is not about outsourcing responsibility.
The focus is on:
-
Strategic training in varied environments
-
Clear handling systems that transfer back to the owner
-
Building understanding, not just temporary behaviour changes
The goal is progress that lasts once the training ends.-
Concentrated training allows dogs to practise skills consistently, helping them settle into new patterns more quickly.
For handlers, it provides clarity, confidence, and a stronger foundation to build on moving forward.
03.
STAY & LEARN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Three Days of In-Depth, Hands-On Training
Stay & Learn is a fully immersive training experience designed for deep learning and long-term change.
It combines intensive hands-on work with structured coaching, allowing handlers to step away from daily distractions and focus entirely on their dog.
This experience is suited to those who want to fully commit to understanding their dog and their own handling.
It is not a passive experience and is not suitable for anyone looking for a quick handover-style solution.
Unlike standard training sessions, Stay & Learn prioritises:
-
Immersion rather than repetition
-
Learning through application
-
Understanding how skills translate across environments
The emphasis is on building confidence, not dependence.
-
Extended focus often leads to breakthroughs that are difficult to achieve in shorter formats.
Handlers leave with clarity, confidence, and practical skills they can continue to apply long after the experience ends.
04.
SOCIAL TRAINING WALKS
Real-World Practice, Structured and Supportive

Social Training Walks are structured, purposeful sessions designed to practise calm behaviour in real-world environments.
They are not casual group walks. Each session has a clear focus and supports skill development around neutrality, engagement, and calm handling.
These walks are suitable for dogs who already have basic foundations in place and are ready to practise skills around real-world distractions.
They are not designed for resolving significant underlying behaviour issues.
With the Aim of: Improved lead manners, reduced pulling, more enjoyable walks for both you and your dog!
The emphasis is on:
-
Reading environments effectively
-
Managing space and pressure
-
Supporting dogs without over-managing
Handlers learn how to apply skills calmly rather than relying on constant instruction.
-
As confidence improves, walks become calmer and more predictable.
Dogs learn how to exist around others without unnecessary stress, and handlers gain confidence navigating everyday environments.
Dog attacks are, unfortunately, a growing concern. Whether you or your dog have experienced a negative encounter, or you simply want to be prepared for anything, my Defensive Handling sessions equip you with the skills and confidence to handle unexpected situations. These sessions provide practical tools to keep both you and your dog safe during walks.
Defensive Handling Sessions focus on safety, awareness, and preparedness.
This is not about aggression. It is about knowing how to prevent, manage, and recover from challenging situations while out with your dog.
With the aim of:
-
Increased confidence on walks
-
Reduced anxiety for both dog and owner
-
Improved safety awareness and prevention skills
-
These sessions are suited to handlers who want practical skills for navigating unpredictable environments.
They are not a replacement for foundational behaviour work where that is still required.
The focus is on:
-
Situational awareness
-
Risk assessment
-
Clear, calm decision-making under pressure
Handlers learn when to step in, when to create space, and how to prioritise safety.
-
Confidence increases when handlers know they can manage difficult situations calmly and effectively.
This reduces anxiety on walks and allows dogs to feel supported rather than controlled.
SPECIALISED TRAINING:
SECURITY & PROTECTION WORK
Advanced Skills, Respectful Approach

For those seeking high-level training, I offer a specialised program in security and protection work. This is for high-drive dogs and owners interested in controlled bite work and defensive handling. This service is distinct from standard pet training and we only proceed after a comprehensive assessment to ensure the dog’s suitability and well-being.
Specialised Protection Work is advanced training for suitable dogs and experienced handlers.
This work is structured, controlled, and rooted in safety, responsibility, and clear standards.
This service is for dogs with the appropriate temperament and handlers who understand the responsibility involved.
It is not suitable for casual interest or dogs without solid foundations.
The focus is not on creating aggression, but on:
-
Controlled, contextual responses
-
Clear communication
-
Strategic handling and decision-making
All work is suitability-led and progression-based.
-
When done correctly, this work builds clarity, control, and confidence.
Handlers gain a deeper understanding of their dog, while dogs learn how to work with purpose and restraint.
*This programme is conducted with the utmost safety and respect for the dog’s well-being and is strictly available to suitable dog-owner pairs after a comprehensive evaluation.
